Type the edit you want, such as a trim, captions, a color change, a speed change or a new format. FinalCap turns your words into FFmpeg edits that run in your browser, so your video file is not uploaded to edit.
FinalCap maps each plain-English request to FFmpeg filters and commands.
Describe the edit in plain English. Trim, crop, resize, rotate or add text, and the AI builds the FFmpeg command for you.
Try: "trim seconds 5–15" →Transcribe speech in your browser (or in the cloud, audio only, if you opt in), translate the captions on our server, and burn them in at the top or bottom.
Try: "add Spanish captions" →Brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, color filters and transitions between clips. Each one is an FFmpeg filter.
Try: "make it moodier" →Reframe to 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, 1:1 for feeds or 16:9 for YouTube with one sentence.
Try: "make it vertical" →Change speed, volume and fades, normalize loudness, equalize, and trim silence from the start or end.
Try: "make it 2x faster" →Convert to MP4, WebM, MOV or MKV, or extract the audio as MP3, WAV or AAC, rendered in your browser.
Try: "convert to WebM" →Open a file, type the edit, download the result.
Pick a video or audio file, or try the built-in sample. Opening a file does not upload it.
Type it the way you'd brief an editor. Ask follow-ups, stack changes, and go back to any earlier version.
FFmpeg renders the edit in your browser. Save the file when it's ready.
Paste any of these into the editor.
FinalCap reads your file straight from your device. Edits run in your browser with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, and captions are transcribed by default with a speech model that also runs in your browser. To plan an edit, the AI receives your typed request and up to four small still frames, never the video file. Translating captions sends only the caption text. If a step can't run in your browser, FinalCap asks before uploading anything; lyric captions, for example, send only the audio track. Read the privacy policy.
