FinalCap for iPhone adds a timeline and Chinese captions

FinalCap on iPhone now shows a multi-clip timeline and turns spoken words into Chinese captions you can burn in, with a chat box for the request.

FinalCap on iPhone now has a timeline that shows every clip, and it can turn the speech in a video into Chinese captions. You type the request in the chat and watch the progress.

The timeline shows every clip

The timeline lists the clips in order with their lengths. In the screen the project is 41.5 seconds long with four clips and no audio track. You can drag the ruler to scrub, and pinch to zoom. Tools under the timeline let you split a clip, duplicate it, move it left or right, change its speed, or add a transition.

The playhead sits at 0:11 on the third clip, which is 15.0 seconds long. The other clips are 4.4 seconds and 10.6 seconds.

Chinese captions from the speech

Type "Add Chinese captions translated from what's said in the video" and FinalCap starts the work. The overlay shows "Translating... 85%" while it runs. The chat also offers quick buttons for Captions, Chinese captions, and Trim to 15s.

The steps stay the same as on the web: the speech is turned into captions, the text is translated, and the Chinese lines can be burned into the frames. Only the caption text leaves the phone for the translation step. The video file stays on the device for the burn-in.

Try the chat

The composer at the bottom says "Describe an edit..." You can type a trim, a speed change, a transition, or a caption request in ordinary words. The same chat drives both the timeline tools and the caption work.

FinalCap for iPhone is in App Store review. The web version at https://grepawk.com/ already does the same caption translation and plain-English edits.
